Dallas Cowboys Stadium
The largest domed stadium in the world, the dallas cowboys stadium is a major achievement of American sports culture. Built in Arlington Texas, Dallas Cowboys stadium replaces the former stadium used by the Cowboys since the early days of the team. Intended to house the new NFL season for the team, the Dallas Cowboys stadium had the official opening on May 29th, 2009. The architecture of the stadium pays homage to the former structure by mimicking a hole in the roof, in remembrance of the original Texas Stadium. The new Dallas Cowboys stadium will also be used by other organizations for sporting and non-sporting events alike.
The building costs of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium were impressive, making it one of the most expensive sports venues ever built. Arlington officials have in fact increased several taxes in order to be able to support the building of the stadium. City sales, car rental and hotel occupancy taxes became one or two percents higher for the only purpose of funding the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. The National Football League contributed to the project by quite an impressive sum of money according to the regulations. The important thing is that the venue was built and that the Dallas Cowboys Stadium is part of American national heritage.
As for architecture and design, it seems that the new dallas cowboys football stadium can stand against any criticism. The stadium is anchored by massive arches and the retractable roofs make the building practical on all sorts of weather. There is a high-definition video display hung right in the middle of the stadium which enables for a nearly perfect visibility. The scoreboard is a lot larger too. With 3,000 square feet bigger than the former scoreboard, Dallas Cowboys Stadium scoreboard now measures 11,520 square feet.
The Dallas Cowboys Stadium also includes a Hall of Fame level dedicated to the best American football team. The drawings are very comprehensive and the entire level is impressive by the quality of design and the touch of history that it leaves. Although many events will be housed in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium during the next couple of years, the 2011 Super Bowl is by far one of the most expected. From cultural shows to the music concerts and exhibitions, there are lots of things we can expect from the new Arlington venue.
